Welcome to our website
We are a friendly mixed ability group of men and women, who meet every Thursday 10.30am – 3.00pm at the Arts Alive Centre in Crickhowell.
Guild members are enthusiastic and talented craftspeople who focus on traditional textile crafts. They enjoy the weekly meetings where they are able to exchange ideas and to help and encourage each other.
The Guild has a varied annual programme of workshops, talks and visits.
The Guild is open to experienced crafts people as well as to complete beginners. We always welcome new members and visitors.
Dora Care, who taught many of our members to weave, formed the Guild in 1982. Guild members like to carry on the tradition of encouraging others to take up these fascinating crafts and we have recently received funding from The Big Lottery and The Laura Ashley Foundation to run a Weaving and a Spinning Course for beginners.
Looms, Spinning wheels and other equipment are available for use at the centre.
